Various Parts Needed

  • Used WRX TD04 or VF11.
    • If the TD04 is used, an older subaru 5-psi waste gate actuator is needed. ($15)
  • 5psi wastegate spring
  • BOV
  • Walbro 255lph fuel pump
  • Used SVX FPR
  • Used Vortech FMU - Greddy SFMU only works on MAF cars.
  • Colder Spark Plugs
  • MAP Voltage Clamp
  • Timing Controller
    • SplitSecond ($500 MSRP)
    • Apexi ITC ($229 MSRP)
  • Oil Lines
    • Oil Galley Plug for oil feed. SubaruWRXparts.com stocks them.
    • Soft return to oil pan hose.
  • Coolant Lines
    • Can use the TB coolant lines? Uh.. does a 00RS have this?
  • Oil Return Bung
  • JDM Intercooler Shroud ($30ish) would be nice to have.
  • EBay FMIC could save alot of hastles and money over the TMIC.

Exhaust Parts Option 1

  • [Here is a link] to a decent list of "what and what not" about using WRX parts.
  • $75 - WRX Exhaust Manifold [Used one]
  • $50 - WRX Up-Pipe
  • $50 - WRX Down-Pipe
  • $25 - WRX Mid-Pipe
  • $50 - WRX TMIC with Y-Pipe
  • $150 - GC8 FSB
  • -$100 - Sell FSB
  • $300 Cost

Exhaust Parts Option 2

  • $20 - Used stock cast header. Better heat retention over SS Header.
  • $175 - Subachad Up-Pipe
  • $225 - Subachad Down-Pipe
  • $25 - Mid-pipe
  • $445 Cost

Notes

  • During the Build.. the Turbo can be removed from the equasion by pulling the TMIC and putting a filter on the TB. Then, something to protected the turbo outlet also.
  • Cross Member will need to be notched and re-enforded for WRX up-pipe.
  • A JDM GC8 Crossmember, or a Turbo Legacy Crossmember could be used instead.
  • FSB needs to be replaced with GC8 Turbo FSB
  • TD04 would need a 5psi WG actuator. The 14psi stock one is too high for my 2.5L. But Legacy VF11 comes with a 5-6psi wastegate.
  • 20mm Spacer is needed between stock WRX up-pipe and turbo to clear SOHC heads.
  • TMIC and Y-Pipe wont' work as stock. Chop the stock Y-Pipe, and use a hose to connect to the turbo. And some sort of 2 or 1-7/8" exhaust adapter to connect the rad hose to the Y-Pipe inlet.
  • TMIC and Throttle Body each need 1/2" trimmed off to fit inside the firewall.
  • The stock FPR MUST be moved. It's too close to the turbo. do the parallel fuel rail mod, and an external FPR from an SVX.
